How OLURT Works

OLURT is currently in development and is not yet available to the public.

Here's how OLURT is designed to help you respond to overnight low-glucose alerts.

Designed for:

  • Parents and caregivers of children with Type 1 diabetes
  • Adults with Type 1 diabetes
  1. LOW Alert

When your glucose is below the low threshold overnight, OLURT sounds an alarm intended to wake you.

  2. 15-Minute Recheck

After you acknowledge the alarm, OLURT checks your glucose again 15 minutes later.

  3. Trusted-Contact Alert

If you're still below the threshold, OLURT sounds a STILL LOW alarm and automatically notifies your trusted contact.

If the first alarm isn't acknowledged, OLURT is designed to notify your trusted contact.

Trusted-contact notifications are designed to be sent by text message and automated phone call.

OLURT does not measure glucose or confirm treatment. It does not replace your continuous glucose monitor (CGM) or its alerts. OLURT cannot guarantee that someone will wake up or respond to an alert.

Who It's For

Adults with Type 1 diabetes

Your trusted contact could be a partner, family member or friend.

Parents and caregivers of children with Type 1 diabetes

We're also designing an experience for parents of children with T1D, with alarms that come to your phone. We'll share details as development and safety review progress.
